I'm just going to throw the game here, but can anyone compare XP with 98SE?I understand XP makes a lot of decisions for the user.Is this problematic,or is it even an issue?Does it really load quicker? What else, etc.?

I've heard that windows ME was meant to be truly great and that 98SE was thoroughly sorted.. Many people complain about XP doing so much for you, I havent had any trouble, but if I was trying to run a whole bunch of VSTs & 40 tracks of audio, I might think differently. Prolly best to ask on an audio forum, like www.bluelifeaudio.com. Eventually, though, the older windows will simply become obsolete, so the issue is really "is it worth waiting for XP-2", I suppose I win ;D

xp and 2000 are the first to really do audio right. I have mine fully tweaked just for audio and run only audio programs on it. smoooove and stable
